Making and approving of key strategic decisions on behalf of the DAO

Responsibilities

What ongoing activities is the role responsible for?

  • Attend and actively participate in every CSDO call (only 1 WS lead per call)

  • Report back to respective workstreams regarding topics discussed and decisions made (especially those that may affect a contributor’s work)

  • Review proposals and actively comment during the async discussions

  • Follow up on and report back on open action items assigned to members

  • Represent the point-of-view and needs of respective workstream

  • Surface agenda topics which can have a DAO-wide impact

  • Provide input on relevant forum discussions

  • Recognize & elevate the needs of the DAO over the needs of the workstream

  • Commit the appropriate time to fulfill the above responsibilities

  • Drive Gitcoin strategy-related initiatives or, when not driving, ensure that initiatives are delegated and completed in previously agreed upon time frames

  • Attend and prepare for Steward Council calls as needed

  • Gitcoin-wide strategies

  • Ratification of Essential Intents

  • How to best represent their workstreams’ point-of-view and needs (whether to bring a topic out of the workstream and into CSDO)

  • Voting during the ratification of CSDO decisions

What measures or outcomes can be used to evaluate this role?

  • There is currently no evaluation criteria for CSDO members

Qualifications

What skills or experience are needed to perform this role effectively?

  • Being a Workstream Lead, or being delegated by your Workstream Lead

Staffing

  • 1 person per workstream (if a workstream has 2 Workstream Leads, only 1 should be assigned to consistently join the meetings to preserve team dynamics)

  • 1 Executive Director of Foundation (non-voting member)

  • 1 Chief of Staff (meeting facilitator and non-voting member)

  • Guests can be invited

  • To remove a CSDO member, the individual must also be removed as a Workstream Lead
