# Discussions

Most governance discussions do and should take place on the official [Gitcoin forums](https://gov.gitcoin.co). This is to ensure the community has all the information it needs to make an informed decision about proposals and to provide transparency into what was decided, what was done, and why.

Certain discussions, which are often cross stream governance discussions that have to do with the daily operations of the DAO, take place at CSDO.

Discussions on the forum are great for:

* Soliciting/providing feedback about different ideas
* Gauging sentiment about a potential proposal being drafted

Discussions must be live on the Governance Forum for 5 days and have (at minimum) 5 comments from [Stewards](/governance-roles/steward.md) before they can become official proposals.

Please always keep in mind the [Code of Conduct and Rules of Engagement](/introduction-and-overview/code-of-conduct-and-rules-of-engagement.md) when discussing different ideas on the governance forum.

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation dynamically by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the current page URL with the `ask` query parameter, and the optional `goal` query parameter:

```
GET https://manual.gitcoin.co/governance-processes/discussions.md?ask=<question>&goal=<endgoal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is optional and describes the broader end goal you are ultimately trying to accomplish on behalf of the user. GitBook uses it to tailor the answer towards what is most useful for that goal.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
